We purchased Annual Passes over the phone. We were given will call numbers. The cast member said we don't even need to check into guest services, as they are already linked to our magic bands. Has anyone experienced this? In the past, we received vouchers and had to go to guest services.

It has been our experience that with DVC annual passes, you must go to guest services to activate them before you can use them. When you activate them, you must show your DVC card and ID so that the CM can verify that you are entitled to the DVC discount.

IMO, you received incorrect (or perhaps incomplete) information. We had to go to Guest Services this past December and I strongly doubt anything has changed since then. When the CM finishes activating your pass at GS, he/she will give you card that you can show to get AP discounts. We had to show our membership card and photo ID to activate.

The Will Call number can be used now to link your passes to your MDE account so that you can make FP+ reservations at the 60 day mark if you are staying on site, or at the 30 day mark if you are not staying at an on site resort. Perhaps the CM or the system already linked your passes to your MDE account, but you should check. You may need to assign each pass to an individual - the system should prompt you to do so when you sign in. If the passes aren't already linked to MDE for you, you can use the Will Call number to do it yourself. Even if the passes are there, you will still need to go to Guest Services.

We had a will call number for our APs in November and we could go to any ticket counter to get it activated. We went to the TTC and used a ticket counter there. It still took the CM several minutes per AP to activate them.

This is exactly what we were told and exactly what we did recently. Yes, the AP appeared on the Magic Band but as instructed, we had to go to Guest Services at a park with the identification you mentioned above. The resort could not do this.

Thanks all! I had a feeling the CM didn't provide the correct info. (or we had a misunderstanding).

The receipt, voucher, and will call number are just a reference to the same thing which is the number you get now to get them into MDE and be able to make FP+ selections at 60 days out. You will need to go to either a ticket window or Guest Services at a park to get actual AP, both the card and the activation in your MDE and magic band. Until about three years ago you could only do it at Guest Services but that changed to also allow doing it at park ticket windows.
