Hi,

I have booked the DCR in august for myself and one child under seven. The final payment is due end of June. The rest of the family will have AP's, so i want to add the other 4 people onto the booking just as 'room only'.
My question is, when is the best time to add the additional names to the booking ? can i do it before the final payment comes out - or should i wait until after it comes out ?

I did the same in January on sequoia lodge. I didn't add them until I checked in to the hotel. It was no problem

I think if you add them too early you will end up paying a lot more for them.

When we added our son a few years ago (as a 3rd adult) we were told if we added him the week before we would pay approx £100 if we added him at check in we would pay approx 2Euros per night - guess which we went for.

just wait until you get there and add them when you are checking into your cabin, this is standard procedure :).

I do this all the time.

Book one person and a child under 12

Add myself and my daughter (13 years) at the check in.

No problems ever and a very cheap way to stay.

:thumbsup2

I do this all the time.

We do as well.

However, we've often had a CM at check in who knows nothing about it, and after some 'confusion', has had to call in someone else to facilitate.

Just be prepared for the possibility that you may need to assert yourself ;)

But what do you do in the case of hotels? I have 4 of us in one room, I don't want to turn up to a room and find only one double bed because they only thought one person was staying and then they can't find us another room?

I was planning on emailing next week as we travel on 3rd June :confused3....

We always travel with 4 persons (2 Adults and 2 Children).

We never get any problems with the extra booking even when booking for 2 persons at the beginning.

I think they will give you a room for 4 at the check in if you asked for it.

Hi

Thanks for all your replies, I will do it at check in. I just have nightmares thinking that we will get there and they won't let me check the extra people in - there would be some very upset kids and adults !!
Anyway it looks like doing it at check in works ok.
Thanks

I remember this did happen to one DISer - when she went to check in they'd been allocated a king size room and was told there weren't any others available. However it's the only time someone's reported a problem and as there are going to be lots more rooms with 2 doubles than with 1 king then the chance of the same happening to you is going to be very slim ..... however it wouldn't hurt to put in a request. You wouldn't even need to mention there are others joining you - you could just send in a request for a room with 2 doubles.

I'm confused now (doesn't take much!) should I not mention the APs at all then? The CM I booked with told me to email and mention it? Why would we be charged more if we say in advance? Surely it's just the room tax rate?

I think I probably need to email this weekend as we go in 9 days time and are hoping for a ground floor room.....

It would be awful for us if we got a king bedded room as the hotel is full so probably not much chance of moving us! :confused3 Plus, don't fancy 5 nights on a sofa bed if they gave us one of those either! :rotfl2:

Help please!!! :wave2:

Disney won't have the guest names sheets sent out to the individual hotels until at the most a week before you go, maybe only 2 or 3 days before you go. I'd call the hotel personally, maybe 4 days beforehand, and ask them for a room for 4 people, as you will have guests coming with you who don't need park tickets. This will safeguard your room, make sure that its a room for 4 rather than a room for 2.

Did you not book room only with the AP discount? If so would it not have cost the same to put you all on the booking to start with?
