AP Watch for January, is it too early yet.....

I'm watching too, but not counting on anything yet. Last year AP rates for Jan were released mid Dec.

Are new AP rates posted before old AP rates expire? So I would have time to see if it is economical for me to wait and purchase before my next trip in June? Or if I should purchase them in December before the price increase.
Thanks.

I'm not sure what your asking. If you're asking if you should guy an AP before rates of AP's go up, you're already too late. AP rates and all admisions at WDW just went up on Sunday. The current AP rates on hotels are out through 12/19, meaning you'd have to check in by 12/19 to receive any current AP rates. If you're thinking of a June stay, you don't need to purchase your AP until then. I'm guessing you'd see AP rates for a June stay sometimea round April or May.

The current AP rates, if similar to the code rates, will probably have to be booked by the end of September for rates through the end of the year. Not sure on this...AP rates could be available much longer than codes and I haven't seen an expiration date or "book by" date for APs . I wouldn't count on the rates being available anytime soon. Even before 2001, I don't think they released AP rates very far in advance. I think beginning of November is probably when you'll see January rates. But this is pure conjecture at this point since no one really knows.

If you know you want to go in January, I'd book a room now so you know you have a spot at the resort you want and then change to AP rates if they come out later.

I'm watching for those January AP discounts also! I have made my ressies at the Polynesian ( I'm so excited...never stayed here before) a bit pricy at 282 with tax.........so I'm hoping. Last year I got a great rate at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
:D

I too am waiting for AP rates to come out for January... I booked at the Poly as well (1st time there, and can't wait)... but got quoted a much higher price for rooms then the rate of $282 w/tax......the rates I was quoted were starting at $299 +tax for Garden view, and went up to $470 + tax for Conceirge Lagoon view!.... I am extreamly hopeful that the AP rates will come out, and be attractive enough to upgrade to Conceirge!
