I'm not sure if this question belongs on this board or the resorts board, but in any case:

Does anyone know the breakeven for buying APs vs the length of stay passes at the disney resorts?

We usually come for 3 weeks, so it's a no brainer that the AP is cheaper, but this year we're only going to be there for 2 weeks, so i'm not so sure what's the better option.

Anyone know?

Are you staying onsite? Because then you would have to take into consideration any discount you get on the room. If you want to stay at a Deluxe, right now you can book it for $75-100 off a night. Staying there just 3-4 nights with that rate vs rack rate, justifies getting an AP.

Hi Beth! :)

Disney no longer offers a length of stay pass.

What they now offer are the Magic Your Way tickets. You can purchase up to 10 days. If you need more than that, an AP will suit you best.

If your two weeks are lumped together in ONE vacation:

A 10 day pass with park hopping that expires is $247.08. A 2 day pass with park hopping that expires is $164.01. Those two passes combined total out to $411.09. An AP is $420, so if you need 13 or more days of admission WITHOUT the expiration option, that's your best bet.

If your two weeks are NOT lumped together (ie 1 week at the beginning of the year, 1 week at the end of the year):

A 10 day non-expiring pass is $353.08. A 1 day park hopping pass is $100 as well. So, if you need 11 or more days of admission WITH non-expiration, yuor best bet would be an AP.

thanks.

I found the disney ticket calculator on their website and was surprised to see that they only sell up to 10 day tickets for onsite guests.
Seeing that, I agree with you, in all cases the AP is a better bet, even if I'm talking about the premium AP, which is $511.
Together with the various discounts (like on the Segway tour we're taking) and the possibility that we'll be back sometime during the year, it would be the way to go even if the onsite tickets worked out to be a litter cheaper.

But they've definitely improved the pricing for people who buy tickets for less than 10 days. The sliding scale really slides now.
