AP Upgrade Question

We bought AP's at the end of last year. We purchased Deluxe AP's for myself and my two kids, and my husband got the Signature AP. We purchased his higher up so he could take advantage of the higher discount and for the free photopass.

We have trip planned for Spring Break and I have bought 1 day 1 park tickets for the kids and I as one day during our trip is blacked out on our AP. I bought these about 2 weeks ago. At the time it seemed to be cheaper than upgrading to the Signature because the other trips we have planned didn't have any blackout dates.

BUT now that they are going to have the Summer of Heroes, I am thinking of booking a trip for a weekend in June. Which means another Blackout date. Has anyone ever tried to upgrade an a/p and use the face value of any unused tickets to get applied to the upgrade? I called Disney and was told to try and email my request, which I am going to do, but I just wanted to see if anyone had any luck with this.

Typically you can't apply 2 forms of admission to a single AP or use admission towards an upgrade. It's somewhere in the terms of the AP about apply forms admission. I think they told you to email your request so that you'll have something to show if you get it writing. If you don't get the answer you want you can try asking for a lead at the ticket booth. If the answer is still no, you can always save the 1 day tickets and use them towards your next APs. You'll lose your renewal discount that way, but the tickets are already paid for and their value is greater than the renewal discount anyway.
