ap upgrade question again

Sorry for another AP question. It's too bad they don't have an AP sticky.

I'm thinking of upgrading my ap from Socal to Deluxe b/c I have to buy a blockout day ticket. Will it be prorated?

I keep reading conflicting answers on different threads & Disney just states that my exp. date will not change?
