We purchased our power pass before the price increase and only paid 199 for our passes. I'm considering upgrading to a preferred pass when we go in sept so that when we go back over Xmas we can visit universal for a day (trying to determine if it is worth it). What I'm wondering will we have to pay the price difference from what we paid to the current. Or would it just be the price difference between the 2 passes?

It is generally the difference between what you paid and the price of the more expensive pass now.

That's frustrating..I was glad we caught it before the price increase. It doesn't seem fair to end up also paying the hike even though we bought it prior..I wish I had decided before hand. I could see if it was discounted tickets but not a price increase.

Don't count it out. It is worth asking.

If you bought tickets or AP's before any price increase they give you credit for the amount you paid towards the purchase of the new tickets or AP's.

That would be you asking for a credit for the power pass at today's prices, not going to happen.
