AP upgrade & Free Dining

We are going in September. We have free dining. We are thinking about upgrading to annual passes. Will we have to wait until the end of our trip to upgrade? We really want the benefit of the photo pass that comes with the AP. Thoughts??

I don't know if Dining has anything to do with it, we upgraded the first day of our trip last year, easy peasy for us and we even had a CM who did the upgrade correctly. We did it at the place across from Town Theatre in MK

Upgrade at your first day in the park if you know for sure you want an AP. It's better to upgrade sooner, rather then later to take advantage of any discounts. Your fd won't be affected.

you can/should upgrade before your media tickets are all used, preferably on the first day, your Dining isn't tied to tickets, you were required to buy a minimum of 2 day park hoppers to get the free dining, what you do with the tickets afterwards it doesn't affect the dining plan

Upgrade at the beginning, but you may want to look into switching to a room discount. APs have great dining discounts this year so you might save a crazy amount of money paying out of pocket for your food when you add in the AP discount and the room discount.

You will be losing all those discounts for alll those days PLUS your AP will expire the day you first used your ticket not the day you got your AP
