AP Ticket Question

If anyone could offer help---

We visted in late January this year. We bought 10 day hoppers and used them while we were visiting. We are looking at AP's because we are coming back in September this year.

I heard that you can use the money credit you previously used in one year towards the purchase of you AP...is that true? (ex: we paid like $250 for 10-day, so we subtract that from AP).

My understanding is that it is just the unused portion of the ticket that can be applied and at the price you paid.

So if you used 5 out of 10 days and paid $250, you would have $125 to apply toward an AP.

No personal experience though as we have always just purchased our APs.

Yes, the tickets have to be used, but not used up. And there are new rules about how much $$ you get credited towards an upgraded ticket too, right?

No, you cannot get credit for a ticket that you have completely used. You can only get credit for the unused portion of a ticket (as long as it has not expired).

In order to get the full amount of the MYW ticket as a credit, you have to do the upgrade to the AP within the first 14 days of use. Doesn't matter that you have the no expiration option on the ticket for this.

After the first 14 days, you can get a dollar credit for the unused theme park admissions on the MYW ticket but it will not be much. MYW tickets are front loaded in value with the first few days costing far more than the last ones. Guest Relations figures the cost in reverse from the way you purchase it. Days 5-10 on a 10 day PH ticket only cost about $15 total to purchase and that's all you will get as dollar credit (plus prorated no expiration fee).
