AP suite upgrade

I was wondering from the experienced AP holders, what are the chances of an AP suite upgrade? I know it just depends if some are available but is there a greater chance at one hotel over the other?

Your correct,its upon availibility.August is traditionaly busy.But you never know till you get there.

RPR and PBR are the larger of the three.

each hotel has a different rate for upgrading from a standard room to a suite.


i have the loews platinum and get the king suite without any additional charges.


when i booked with the room only AAA rate, i have been upgraded to the suite for free prior to becoming platinum level.



if the hotel is at a lower occupancy level when you check in, it is easier to get an upgrade. sometimes free, depending on the TM that checks you in.

if the hotel upgrades some guests, that frees up more standard rooms for last minute guests that book a few days out.

the hotel wins.
they can upgrade some guests and then turn around and have some standard rooms freed up to book.

This is probably a dumb question, but how do you request the upgrade for free? Do you just ask if any are available, then ask what the rate is? We booked a standard room with APH rate. It is in early June so it is probably unlikely they would have any available, but just wondering--I'm just not sure what the protocol is. . . .

depending on the date
depending on the hotel..........


if you booked standard room, and ask if you can have a free upgrade, it is possible to get that as a pool view standard room.

to get upgraded to a suite from a standard room, not as likely.
it has happened to others before but don't count on it happening all the time.
