AP room discount code - what a con!

After spending ten minutes on the phone to WDW being passed from pillar to post it appears that since I booked my room through the UK disney site I can't get a AP discount??

Next time I'll be sure to force the website to let me to the US site to book - but I think that's really unfair

Is it possible to cancel and rebook?
Even if you lose a little it might be worth it.
Most hotels I have used in Florida you can cancel upto 24hrs berfore arrival with no charge.

Trouble with the UK site is that it is more like a UK tour operator with penalties for cancelling with longer notice. The US site is much more flexible if you want to change your plans. I must say when ever I have had AP discounts I have gone through a Disney specialist travel agent who deals direct with Disney and is very very good Planning on using AP rates next October so will certainly go back to the TA.

Thanks Claire - I'll bear that in mind next year.We're only staying for one night so it's a lot of hassle to cancel and rebook for the sake of 40 quid - but it's just the principle of the thing! Don't see why we shouldn't be allowed to use the discount when we are allowed to buy the tickets!

Think it is ridiculous that disney UK cannot offer the same deal.Where is the logic????
I have booked through dreams unlimited this year as i know they will monitor for any discounts that come available.They have already applied a AAA discount to my trip and if the AP discount is more when available they will swap it over.Also you only have to pay for 1 nights accomodation and the rest can be payed on arrival.
