I am thinking of getting an Annual Pass. I was wondering does anyone know the ins and outs:
If I get the AP and I already have a room ressie, can a discount thru the Ap be applied afterwards? I don't mean after I have already stayed, but after I have already booked the room.

When can you get the discount benefits w/the AP? Foe example, if I purchase an AP, but I will not actually be at a park until Jan., when does the pass and benefits become active?

I am not sure if this is correct place to post this -or in the parks section, sorry if it is in the wrong place!:confused3

There aren't always AP discounted room rates. But after you book and a discount is announced you can try and get an AP discounted room.

If you purchase an AP online you will receive a voucher, it doesn't become active until you activate it when you get to WDW.

You do not have to have an valid AP to book an AP rate room. But you must have a valid AP to present to the front desk when you check in.

So you can book an AP rate room when it is announced, or try to switch an existing reservation to that rate once it is announced. You do not have to have the AP yet.

Then you arrive at WDW and you purchase your AP, exchange your voucher, etc., and present it at the front desk. If you do not show the AP, the rate will revert to rack.
