AP ressies at hotel in person

Can you book an AP rate directly with the hotel in person when the codes come out? Has anyone ever tried this?

I don't know about AP rates but with FL rates my brother was able to make a reservation in the lobby but he had to call CRO. The front desk was not able to give him the discounted rate without getting the reservation done through CRO. The reservation has to be in advance. I guess even by minutes.

Having said that if you know you are going call and make reservations. You don't want to find out the resort you want doesn't have available AP discount rooms.

You have to call CRO. I was on a trip staying at the Poly and wanted to add another day. When I called the front desk they said they could not add any days at discount rates and that I would have to talk to CRO. They then connected me to CRO and I took care of it that way. If CRO says there are none available at the discount then you would have to pay rack rate.
