Isn't there a discount for renewing your AP up to a month after it's expiration and, if so, how much is it usually? Thanks!

Yes 15% just did it

Yes.
Which is the equivalent of about 55 days (a month and a half) worth of "AP year."

So... if you will not actually be USING your AP for at least a month and a half following its renewal/anniversary date, it
can actually make sense NOT to renew the current/old AP, but, instead, wait until your next trip to WDW and buy a brand new full-price AP... which would THEN be good for a full 12 months following its activation date.

So the renewal expiration would be my present expiration date? It's over end of Nov. and I was hoping if I waited until we go in Dec. to renew it would have an exp. date for the following Dec.?

1. Yes. That's what makes it a "renewal" (of the current AP.)
2. Nope. The renewal keeps the same anniversary date as the current AP... just extended by one year.
They just give you an extra 30 days following the anniversary date to decide
if you want the renewal.

So renewal would save me $135 ($721 vs $849)?

If you renew an AP and have say, 4 day PH tickets, can the value of the tickets and the renewal discount be combined to bring down the price?

I got $127 off but my math could be off

I did the 15% off the with tax price ($904). Not sure what the tax would be though.

I still think I could "work our dates" and be able to use it for our Dec. trip this year and then again for after Thanksgiving next year. The dates didn't work for us this year after Thanksgiving.

Another Question: Will I be able to make FP for a trip for December if my AP expires on 11/26, since it's 60 days ahead, if that makes sense.

Nope.

UNLESS... you RENEW your AP before your trip dates.
If you renew, you can book your FPs.

How would you use the 4-day PH to renew? Could you do it online or over the phone or would you have to do it when you get there.

In-person is the easiest way, but you should be able to do so over the phone with
WDW Ticketing.

This is what we have always done. It makes no sense to us whatsoever to renew - then have no plans to go back for at least 3-4 months.

Otherwise, we get three 10 day visits out of each AP when we wait. The small discount for renewing is never worth it, unless you are going 'very' often.
