Hi all-

Do you get a special discount for renewing your AP pass?

Wouldn't it make more sense to let it run out, and then your next trip get a new AP so it can be in effect for a longer period of time?

Sorry for not understanding. I just assume that by letting it expire and getting a new one before next trip would allow me to maximize my time at DL. Granted, I only visit DL every 3-6 months.

Thanks in advanced for your help.:cloud9:

If you renew you get a $20 discount. You're right though. If you want to maximize how much time you have on your AP then you should let the pass expire and just pay the higher price. For example, my sister's family had APs last year that they were able to use for 2 summer trips and one Christmas trip. When they go next summer they will get APs again and that will last them for 2 summers again.

But for locals (or others who regularly go to DLR at least every month or so), then it is worth it to renew which not only gives them a bit of a discount but also avoids any lapse in the time they can go to DLR.

Hope that answered your question. :)

..also, can't you just renew online and they send you a new card? Saving you the line time? That plus the 20.00 savings may be worth it to me if we decide to renew.

the only other thing to consider is that they have been raising the AP rates. It seems like every time I look and then plan to get one over the years it is $20 higher when I go to get them because I took too long to buy them.

Thanks everyone!! That makes perfect sense to me. Now I can plan accordingly before my pass runs out in March. Oh decisons....

One week left before my trip to DL! Woot!

That's what we do actually, we had APs from July 07-July 08, then we let them lapse until Jan 09 when we got AP vouchers for Christmas. We went in Jan 09 and activated the vouchers, since we were returning AP holders they had our info on file and we got our new APs right at the ticket booths! Took about 15 min for DBF and I both to get our new APs. Then in Feb we took the girls back to get their activated, took another 15 min or so. It definitely makes sense to let them lapse if you're going to have a big gap between trips.

Very minor but you also get to chose a different look for a renewal AP, my 2nd year AP has the fav 5 on it which I love!
