Generally, how do you decide whether to renew your AP (and when), or buy a new one altogether?
We currently have PAP+ (the one with water parks), and for 2019-2020 we are probably going to go down to the regular PAP. But if we do, we'd be paying the price of a new PAP and comparing that to the renewal price of a PAP+, right?

Also - I understand if you get a renewal, it has to be bought within 60 days before the old pass expires - is there a date by which it has to be activated? Our current APs expire approx. September 2019 our next trip for which we'd need tickets is Xmas 2019. It would be nice to have the next AP cover until Dec 2020 rather than Sept 2020.

At renewal time, you can upgrade/downgrade to any level of annual pass that you are entitled to and keep the renewal pricing.

The renewal window opens 60 days prior to expiration date of your current pass and closes 30 days after the pass has expired.

If you renew your current pass, it will expire in September 2020 regardless of when you activate the renewal. To get a pass that runs through Dec 2020, you would need to purchase a new pass (and lose the renewal savings).

Got it. I am pretty sure either option will cover our summer 2020 trip, which alone will make an AP renewal worth it. It would have been nice to have the option to take another Thanksgiving trip, but we are also *supposed* to be getting back to "only" going once every 11 months or so. Ha.

Thanks!
