AP renewal + block out day question

I have a deluxe AP that expires at the end of January. I will be taking a short trip to DLR before then and was considering renewing my AP during that time.

I also planned a visit in March, but just noticed that one of my days is blocked, and I don't want to have to purchase a one-day ticket for that day.

My question: Is it possible to postpone my AP renewal until that March trip? Can I buy a hopper for March then apply that amount to an AP renewal on that blocked out day (which happens to be the last day of my visit, a full day as my flight isn't until about 10pm)? Or is there a better way that I'm overlooking?

You have to renew before your AP expires. In your case, probably, the best thing to do is let it expire and then when you go in March buy the multiday and upgrade the last day. You'll lose the renewal discount, but losing two months of an AP is no better anyway.

You get a discount for renewing without a break.

Or, if you are willing to give up the renewal discount, you can let it expire, buy a 3-day ticket, use the magic morning and AP block out day, then get 100% credit of purchase price toward new AP.

One thing to remember, if you renew your pass, you get 13 mos. The March new pass won't.
