Hi if I book an ap rate now for december but my ap expires at the end of august would I still be able to receive the ap rate :confused3??

You don't have to be a passholder when you make the reservation (which you are), but you do need to be a current passholder when you check-in (which you won't be). One person in your party will need a new one in December.

I wouldn't renew it unless you plan to go to WDW shortly after it expires. The renewal expiration date is one year from the expiration date of the original AP. You could buy a new AP voucher before prices increase in early August, but wait until your December visit to activate it. Then the expiration date will be one year from the date the new AP is activated.
