AP rates in 2005

Hi all,

Someone on the Community board posed the question this morning about whether or not Disney will offer fewer AP rates in 2005 because of the recent weather related closures.

Personally, I think this would be a bad idea. One of the reasons we got our APs was so we could try for rates so we can go more frequently. If we can't, we probably won't renew the APs. We will go less. We won't take our planned May trip, or if we do it will be offsite. Our 2 week October/November trip will be cut in half by a week, or moved to off site. We will not take any quick weekend trips. Hence we'll spend less time in the parks and spend less on food, souvenirs etc.

It was an interesting question. The person also asked if admission rates would go up more than usual. I don't really have an opinion on that now.

I know Disney has to do something to make up for lost revenue but I really hope offering less AP rates in 2005 is not one their list of ways to do so.

What do you all think?

I certainly hope that reducing AP rates is not the course of action Disney chooses. I guess I feel this way for a couple of reasons...

--Annual Passholders are some of Disney's most loyal guests. We tend to stay onsite, take more trips, take longer trips, etc. than the average guest. Plus, since we love Disney so much, we probably even buy more souvenirs. :teeth: It would be silly to disincentivize (I think I just created a word!) AP holders from coming as often/long/etc. It would make much more sense to stop offering general public codes (though I hope they don't do that either for those that don't have AP's).

--I hope Disney realizes that the AP discounts they offer really get them more money. I stay in nicer accomodations when I can get an AP discount, and I also sometimes stay longer. I also have been known to take trips for long weekends. I wouldn't be able to do that without AP discounts.

that is my thought exactly!! I was hoping they would actually have better deals with the hurricanes having been through,
lots of people may be skeptical about coming.
NOw if they would just put them out early, I would be happy!!:teeth:
