AP Rates for October (historically)

Hi guys :) I'm in the gathering-info and early-planning stages for our honeymoon this fall, so I've been reading up a lot on some of the resorts we've never stayed at. Since it's the honeymoon, we've decided to splurge a bit and go deluxe, provided I can get a good AP rate in October.
I've been reading that there were no AP rates for September last year, but I was curious about October? And if there were, do any of you know when they typically release the late fall/early winter AP rates?
Anything you guys know would be so helpful, DF is starting to ask me questions about plans! Plus, we still have to decide on the 3 or 4 night Disney cruise also....and it's only 5 months away...
I'm starting to feel the planning pressure! :hyper:

I'm curious about Oct. AP Rates too.:) Bump:bounce:

About the October AP rates, I don't know. All I know is they've had them in the past.

My husband and I went to Poly for our honeymoon and went through AAA for a package. (Before I knew about all these websites). We got a great rate! We were planning on staying at CB, but our travel agent at AAA told us it would be cheaper to stay at WL, and only a 300 more to stay at Poly. So that's what we did. You might want to call and ask for a quote anyway. It doesn't cost anything.

The discount codes usually come out a couple of months before you can use them. Codes for fall will probably be released in mid to late summer. Keep checking www.mousesavers.com as they will post them there once they're released. They also have a section on when codes have "historically" been released so that may give you an idea as to when they may come out for the time of year you're looking for. You can always book your ressie now btw and add the discount code if and when it comes out if it's available. ;)

I just went to that website and can't find the information on when they historically came out. Can you tell me how to find the information.

Thanks,
Lisa

Nanu...did AAA have a special honeymoon package? Or did you just get a regular package quote?
I've seen some people on the Weddings and Honeymoon board poast about AAA packages before and I wondered if there were special ones for honeymooners...

Thanks for all the info guys!!

It's very hard to find (I know from experience). But now I have it saved in Favorites. Just go here http://www.mousesavers.com/faq.html#historical and bookmark the site so if anyone else comes to the DIS and asks this most popular and famous question, we can just give it to them instead of just giving them the mousesavers site ;) .

Hope this helps!

As far as I know it was just a regular package. We didn't have any romantic add-on's or anything. But we purchased and wore those bridal mickey and minnie hats in Disney and everyone else (including other guests) treated us plenty special.

Our AAA agent did know this was for our honeymoon, but I think it was just a regular package.

I think I might call AAA!
I wonder if they have room-only packages, or if you have to purchase passes as well...We both will have new AP's by October, but I"m still curious!

Have a question about understanding this since I never stayed on-site before.

We normally like to go from March 1-15, for a total of 14 nights. I can book awhile and see if AP code comes out in January for the dates I booked. If they do, I can call back and have it added to my reservation. Is that correct?

Also, can I just buy the AP voucher when you see the codes coming out? Does it get activated at WDW or how do they work?

I never got a AP before. Last time we went we only got a 4 day pass and that was not long enough for a 14 night stay. This time since we are staying onsite, I want to be able to come and go as often as we'd like, which would make more sense to me.

Please let me know if I'm understanding the AP discounts correctly...I'd rather use that than an AAA discount if possible.

You will only be able to get the AP discount applied to your reservation if there are AP rates available at your resort and for your dates. If they are available, they will either change the rate on your reservation or cancel/rebook depending on how the reservation was originally setup.

You can buy a voucher at the Disney Store or over the phone. When you get to WDW, you exchange the voucher for the real pass at a ticket window or guest relations.

Also, can I just buy the AP voucher when you see the codes coming out? Does it get activated at WDW or how do they work?

I can answer this part of your question...I bought my AP at the Disney Store, here at home. What I got from them was a voucher. With this voucher, I was able to reserve rooms (up to 3 on one AP) using the AP discounts. There is some debate as to whether you need the activated AP at check-in or not to keep that discount, I personally have never had to show my AP at check-in.
Now, as for activating, you take that voucher to one of the Guest Services windows at one of the parks and you exchange it for your activated AP. The day that your activated AP is issued is your anniversary date, NOT the date that you purchased the voucher.

Also...I do believe you can call later and add an AP discount to an existing reservation, I've read about people doing that often on these boards :)

October AP rates will be out in August. A CM told me today when I called in to make a payment on our room. (We went ahead and made our reservations, but will change to the AP code in August.)
