We are thinking of doing an overnight in either late Sept or early Oct. I was really surprised that the AP rates at GCH are actually *more* than in the summer! I am puzzled. Why would the rates be higher in the Fall than in the Summer? Isn't summer prime time? :confused3

Maybe there will be a Fall deal that just hasn't been announced yet?

We were surprised also.

After years of staying in cheap(er) offsite motels we were going to splurge and stay at the GCH this Oct.

When my wife told me the AP rate my 1st reaction was that it was that it was the normal rack rate.

In fact... I just went to Disneyland.com and the quote I got was only $10-$20 higher then the AP rate. ( if I remember the AP rate correctly )

Add in parking, internet and a refrigerator and it's hard to justify staying there.

The AP rates are 10% off rack rate. When there are general public specials is when you will also get AP special rates. The current sale has to be booked by July 23 so hopefully we will see something for the fall after that date!

check rates through hotels.com..I found a lower price there than through AP site at one time.

When we stayed in March, it was 30% off rack rates. That was a lot better!

There was also a special for the general public at that same time. Probably 20% off for them.

I'm saying the minimum discount is 10%. It is usually 10% less than what the gp pays for any given day. DL does not like to release specials till much closer to the time.

Speaking of specials, does anyone think they will release one for the end of August? Here's hoping!
