Is it worth it to get an AP for the discount on DL hotels? Does anyone know how much an AP typically saves on rooms? Is there anywhere that I can go to see these rates? I'm most interested in the Paradise Pier Hotel.

It seems to me that the discount rates are substantial. Of course, I don't own an official pass yet but I have been doing some research for our trip in 2 weeks.

For the Paradise Pier, at one point they were offering Sunday nights for $59. Now you can get a room for $79 a night. I think that it might be for Sun-Thurs, and maybe higher on Fri-Sat. I don't think that there is a published rate, but I called and asked them what specials they had for AP holders. The current specials run through May 31 and are based on availability.

GC rates are as low as $159 and $199. If those rooms are sold out, then the rate goes up to $248 standard and $297 theme park view. If those are sold out, they sell concierge level rooms for $383 a night. Suites are typically 10% or very similar to the AAA rates, or $563 for a one-bedroom suite and $725 for a two-bedroom suite.

FYI, Orbitz was selling standard rooms at the GC for as low as $259. Expedia and travelocity were on par with AAA at $310 and $372.

DLH rates are as low as $119 night and $400 for a one-bedroom suite and $510 for a two bedroom suite.

So if you are looking for a low rate, then you need to be somewhat flexible with your dates. I was able to get good AP rates for March 31 but not March 28. I could get anything I wanted in May.

I hope this helps. We'll be testing the AP rate at the end of the month!
