Just wondering - since I noticed that AP rates through 2/11/03 came out, has anyone got a good deal through Disney? DH and I want to go in March (although it is not best season value-wise) and were hoping to find out the discounts that people are getting. Did anyone book a room through 2/11 and get a great discount? Any info would be much appreciated:)

We got Polynesian Lagoon Concierge for $289 per night plus taxes. :) Garden Concierge was $239, and Lagoon View was $229 plus taxes.

CADreaming -when are you going tobe there? Maybe we will see you in the Poly concierege lounge.

Good deal at the AKL Concierge. We have the same AP rate that we had this past Feb $277 and change a night inc tax. Rack Rate is $425 plus 11.5% tax a night so this is a good deal. Everything is realitive of course.

slimplaw,

I am so glad you posted. I had already called twice today trying to have AP rates applied to my son's Jan vacation at ASM. Both times I was told NOTHING AVAILABLE AT ANY OF THE ALL STARS.

When I saw your post I decided to try one more time. This time the magic worked. :-)

Glad you got a lower rate. We'll be there Jan 10-12 for my DD to start the WDW college program.

Although we returned from our trip to WDW almost two weeks ago, I've not only been sick but found it too darn depressing to return to the boards. But I needed to let off a little steam about the unkind bus driver that took us from the CBR to MK.

My dad, 80 years old and quite ill, was determined to ride on Buzz Lightyear with his 4 year old great-grandson. He was on an ECV for the very first time and needed to ride the bus from CBR to MK. The bus driver was so rude and unkind. He was so impatient with my dad for not being able to back into the tight space on one of the old busses. My dad was so embarrassed, I thought he might start to cry.

We learned to wait for the newer busses and every other bus driver we had from then on was not only kind and patient but steered the ECV for my dad. One in particular, Mikel, bent over backwards to make my dad feel good about what he was doing. I think the drivers who have complaints filed against them should have to spend a day in a wheelchair at WDW trying to get around. Maybe they'd have a little more compassion.

I am so very sorry this happened to your dad. Something like this can ruin a vacation. It can linger with you the entire trip.

Shame on that bus driver ! His behavior was inexcusable.I sincerely hope you reported him.

I hope no one asks me how I managed to post my comment under the AP Rates. Just a gift I have. Sorry!

We scored a Cabin at Ft. Wilderness with an AP rate of $139 before tax. That's what we were booked at at rack rate at PO-R (and paid in full already) so it really was kind of a no-brainer to me. Extra room, full kitchen, great environment. We'll see how it goes. I had my whole PO-R plan of attack done, and I know next to NOTHING about the cabins. Off to impose myself on the Camping Board and hope some kind souls will point me in the right direction. :hyper:

At a savings of $1300 under what we were going to pay for the Contemporary Concierge. I guess it IS true that if you're staying at the deluxe resorts, one week at an AP rate can pay for your APs for the year.

My DW should have been a travel agent. At least she has me brainwashed into thinking that she just SAVED me $1300 rather than she just spent... WOW THAT MUCH!!!

Looking forward to a wonderful trip. If anyone's staying at AKL Concierge during the same time, drop me an e-mail at jcborland@comcast.net

WL Woods View $139.40 (including tax). That's a good deal - Rack rate on my room is $219 plus taxes. I am over budget over what was originally planned for accomodations (our orignal plans were for POR and PC with AAA rate) but we are so excited over our coming trip that it really does not matter!

I was thrilled to get WL (courtyard view) for $140/nt. ($156 w/tax) for Jan. 2-4 today. I was hoping for Jan. 1-4, but figured the 1st was sold out. I got CSR for $79 ($88 w/ tax) for 1/1. This is a last minute trip & we are so excited that AP rates came out!:D

We were very happy to get a WL standard view room for three nights (January 21st, 22nd, & 23rd) for $365 total. We've never stayed there...can't wait!

Not my first choice and I had my heart set on WL. Oh well maybe next time. Picked AKL Concierge for $278 a night. I'm sure Grandchildren will love.

Something about the WL and a February Vacation sounded so right, especially when I read others got it for their time frame. I guess everyone else thought so too. Because I just couldn't come up with an AP rate during my stay. When your limited to dates (school vacation) you have to pick whats available. I will be renewing my AP. Looks like Disney has me for another year.
