Are there ever AP rates offered on the Beach Club or Boardwalk Villas? I have booked a 2 bdrm villa at the BCV for our family for October, 2004 (the 23rd-30th) but would LOVE to get a cheaper AP rate. Anyone ever gotten one of these?

I hae heard of studios at OKW being on Ap but not any others. Have you conisdered renting points from a DVC member which might bring your cost down substantially?

We stayed in a one bedroom BWV unit in December of 2001. My DU agent got us an AP rate of $220, I believe. It was great for our family of 4. We had a standard view. Good luck to you!

There have been AP rates offered at the BCV and BWV. However, if they are offered at all, I don't expect them to be very plentiful during the time you have chosen to visit. Also, travel to Florida is definitely picking up - estimates are that it will increase at least 4% next year.

October is a very popular time for DVC members to visit - the EPCOT resorts will very probably sell out as many want to stay there during the Food & Wine Festival. There will probably not be very many 1 - 3 bedroom units available for cash reservations during that time, so CRO will probably rent them for rack. FWIW, IMHO, you are lucky to have one so early!

All that said, it doesn't hurt to keep trying - you never know!

If you are comfortable with some degree of risk, renting points from a DVC member will decrease your cost for stays Sunday - Thursday nights. Good luck!

I'm strongly considering renting points - just a little nervous about it still. Looks like it would cut our costs almost in half. I think 280 points is what's required for that week. And, at $10/point, it would be a great savings, but like I said, the risk *may* be too much!?!?

We rented points from a member in Oct. this year for a 2BR and a studio. I, too, was nervous about the risk, but if you go to the DVC section of this site they have some excellent suggestions. We didn't know the person we rented from, and she lives half way across the country, but it went very well, she was understanding and I wouldn't hesitate to rent from her again.
I saved us almost $300 per night, too.

Thanks for the info!! We're now actively searching for BCV points for Oct, 2004. I'm becoming more and more comfortable with the idea, I just can't believe how much of a price difference there is. I'm sold!

Remember that renting points doesn't guarantee you a ressie for the time period you are looking at. Best bet is to rent the points from some who's home DVC can book 11 months in advance.
