Quick question regarding the AP hotel rates. Does the AP holder need to be there on check in day in order to check in to the room? I have a friend who is an AP, he is going to be with us at the hotel at some point, but due to not knowing his work schedule yet, he doesn't know if he will for sure be able to be there on the day we arrive. He would be there either 1 or 2 days later, to spend the rest of the week with us. I just don't want to book the AP rate, then not be able to check in if he isn't there on day 1!

Thanks for any insight!

The person with the AP needs to be on the reservation. With online check in, you don’t need to go to front desk.

That's what I was thinking, and they will be on the reservation for the full week. I just wanted to make sure! Thank you! :)

Nope. I have an AP and made a reservation for my son and his family the same week I'm going to be there but at a different resort. I just put his name on the reservation as well as mine. In all my years of having an AP, I've never once had them ask for my AP upon check in. As long as his name and yours is on the reservation, even if you have to go to the front desk to check in either of you can do it.
