AP Rate Question

I am considering purchasing AP's for our family next year. I am curious how much you save on hotel rates with an AP. We usually go last of May/First of June and stay at a value. ARe there discounts for the values at this time of year? What kind of rates could I get at a moderate for this time of year?

Thanks for the link. I am thinking about APs just to save money on tickets, thinking about taking two weeklong trips and a long weekend trip. The hotel savings will be just an added bonus!!

We get annual passes every year because we make at least 2 trips a year. As long as you think of the hotel savings as "an added bonus" and you save otherwise with the annual pass, then go for it. But if the hotel savings is the only reason you're deciding to get an AP think again. There are LOTS of times that even though there are AP rates out there, people with APs can't get them where they want them. I've had probably at least one trip a year that i have to go with a AAA rate instead because I couldnt get the AP rate anywhere than a deluxe resort even on the first day the rates were released. It can be infuriating. They come out, you call immediately and they're magically gone already. Sometimes I think they had like 1 room at the values/moderates so they could say they had the AP rates but thats it. It's also much less a discount than it was say even 5-8 years ago. It's pretty close to AAA rates most of the time, within about $5/night for the lower tiers,a little more as you go up levels.

i paid 49 a night for a standard room at ASMu from 12/17-12/20. It was great for a quick trip!
