AP Rate Expiration dates

Hey guys! I'm helping some friends of mine book a trip for December, and was going to use the AP rates that have been posted. However, I'm wondering when you need to book the trip by. Most of the other codes with similar rates state that you must book by October 10th, but there's no apparent date for the AP rates. Does anybody know if there is indeed a book-by date?

Technically, you can book until the rate expires. The problem is that there are only so many AP discounts available and when they're all gone, that's it. I was recently told by a CM that even if someone cancels their room with AP rate, it goes back to rack rate. So book as soon as you can.

Kala is correct, there is no "expiration date" for the AP rates as there is with the general public codes, and those rooms are limited in quantity. But, I don't think it is entirely accurate that they go back to "rack" if someone cancels. I'm not disputing that a cm said this, but if that were the case, how could I call and get an AP rate on Thurs. that I wasn't able to get on Wed.? There have been several instances where I didn't get the rate for the resort that I wanted, but I just kept calling and something opened up. So, either someone canceled or they opened up more rooms at the AP rate.

In any case, if you call and don't get the resort of your choice, or can't get an AP rate for your dates at all, book what you can get and keep calling - you may get what you want if you're persistent!
