AP rate calling vs. booking online question

Originally, I remember if you were booking online with an AP room only, you adhered to the 45 day cancellation policy. Then, they changed it to allow you to book online AP room only with the less stringent 6 day cancellation policy. Now, checking the booking process online this week, when I read the terms, I see it is back to booking AP room only with the more stringent 45 day booking policy.

It was my understanding when they became less strict (was it last year?) they were trying to encourage people to book online without the 45 day penalty. Did they change this back so that ALL online bookings, even room only, are ALWAYS the 45 day cancellation policy or is this one of those site glitches that just won't show the 6 day policy, but you get it anyway? lol

I just prefer booking online to calling, but will call if that is the only way to get the 6 day policy.

Thanks for any help,

I went on line to book thru the passholders site also and when I went to the payment page it said:

Apply Payment
Please select an amount to pay today in order to confirm this reservation. If you choose to apply a deposit, notification of cancellation must be received at least 45 days prior to your check-in date in order to receive a full refund of the deposit.

A yellow box on the upper left said: Choose the amount you wish to pay today. If today's date is less than 45 days away from your vacation reservation, you must pay in full (it requested 1 full night and I couldn't change it)

Then, under Terms and Conditions (you have to scroll to read all the text) it says:

Cancellation Policy
In order to receive a full refund of your deposit, notification of cancellation must be received at least six (6) days prior to your arrival date. To cancel or modify an existing room reservation, call (407) 939-7429†.

So I'm not sure which policy they will follow, but I printed out the terms and conditions and took a screen shot so if I do need to cancel I have a record that the cancellation policy clearly says if I cancel at least 6 days prior I can get a full refund of my deposit.

Thanks so much for your reply. I really appreciate it. Wow, it looks like some real conflicting cancellation terms there. Great idea taking the screen shot and printing out the terms. If I book online, I will do the same. Thanks again for the advice. :)

Not sure about the room only, but since you can turn your AP room reservation into a package by adding the dining now, then your reservation falls under the same rules and restrictions as other packages. If you book a room only, not sure if that is still under the 6 day policy. Beware, if you turn your AP room only into a package by adding the dining, insurance is automatically being added, so if you don't want it, you need to remember to decline it.

My reservation was a room only - and had 6 day cancellation clause inside the window. I also did an online chat with Flora and asked the same question and was told to cancel at least 6 days before and my deposit (one nights room cost) would be refunded. I copied that chat to notepad also.

Did you ever think about booking through Dreams Unlimited? We love the fact that they watch for discounts, and apply them. Once we had a trip planned, with a AAA discount, and when the AP discount came out, they notified us... I tried the online booking and calling, and there were too many conflicting answers

Thanks so much for posting your chat. That is so helpful. I really appreciate it! :goodvibes

Hi, Thanks, we have used DU for a couple cruises and were happy with them... then I became the ultimate control freak and wanted to do everything on my own. I think it's because I wouldn't feel like a pest when I pull the old resort switcheroo more than a couple times. ;)
