AP Quick Question

I asked this on the Theme Park board, and didn't get an answer yet...and we're leaving for AKV Kidani in a few hours. I'm so excited! (Except for the DH being sick part. :sad2: ) I thought I'd ask here, as you folks buy lots of AP's. :lmao: So mods...feel free to close this if you feel it shouldn't be asked here.

I bought an AP for my DH and I, to be picked up at Will Call. In addition, my DH has 4 days left over on a non-expiring ticket. (I bought him an AP this time since we'd be back twice in one year, and then save the other ticket for a different year.) He's sick, and we're headed to WDW this morning...we're already in FL. If he's not up to walking around the parks much, it makes more sense for him to use a Non-exp. ticket, rather than activate his AP. Do I HAVE to pick up BOTH AP's at Will Call, or can I pick up just mine? When EXACTLY are they activated? When HE goes through a GATE, or at Will Call? So, if I have to pick up HIS ticket/voucher at Will Call, he can choose NOT to use it, and use it starting at a later date (and then be good for a year)? Or is it automatically activated when I pick it up?

I hope that makes sense. Thanks!:flower3:

ETA...thanks anyway, guys...I got my answer. Now I can just continue getting excited about AKV!

The AP is activated when you pick it up. If you can't get a voucher for the 2nd AP, just get a refund.

I'm not sure I understand your logic in wanting to use the non-expiring ticket instead of activating the AP, unless you think he's ill enough he'll skip multiple days at the parks after walking around for a little while today.

Also, if your APs don't have the same expiration date, doesn't that mean you'll have to come up with a MYW ticket with that number of days for next year. (Presumably, you'll be visiting at the same time next year, or those days at the end of his AP wouldn't matter.)

Rather than spend a bunch of time trying to get Guest Relations to split the two tickets onto different will-call numbers, then having to go back a second time to pick up his ticket, were it me, I'd activate them both and save myself the hassle.

DH only comes with me for half my trips. His next trip probably won't be til next August. He's already been ill for a couple days. If he only goes to a park for two days and the next time he'd be there is next August, he'd get maybe 7 or 8 days out of his AP. I could SAVE the AP activation til next August, and then it'd be good for a year from then.

His ticket and my ticket hardly ever match, as the other trips I usually take my parents and he stays home. Hence the reason I have an AP and he has a non-exp. ticket to begin with.

We'll wait and see how things go when we get there.

OIC, if he's not going to activate his AP until next August, then it's certainly worth getting worked out.
