Okay, could some of you ap holders please answer some questions for me?
What does an ap cost? Besides resort discounts, are there other discounts to be had with an ap?
I am trying to decide whether it would be worth it for me to but an AP for our 7 day trip at Thanksgiving. Any help would be soo appreciated! Thanks!

There are some discounts on restaurants and I think I read that there's a 10% discount on purchases in world of Disney. When you receive an AP, the benefits are usually listed in a little booklet attached to the card sleeve.

Check the information section of this website to find more info. I believe the benefits are also outlined on WDWIG.com.

An AP breaks even at 8 days in the park in one year.If you go every year just go a week or so early next year and get 2 trips out of it. Yes you get other discounts that change on Jan 1 every year(sometimes sooner) Dining discounts ,mini golf, room discounts, free parking if staying of site and perks in each mickey moniter, special viewing spots,pre-views on new things, etc.
But beware an AP will burn a hole in your pocket. You will find yourself going more than once a year.

Just a point of information:

The info from that page is badly outdated. Almost half of those listed discounts are incorrect or no longer exist. If you read the whole page, they still talk about all-in-one hopper passes and River Country. It even has the wrong dates for the Mickey Monitor.

A more current listing is on Deb's web page.

We went to WDW last july. bought a package with length of stay passes. we ended up adding 2 more days since we got there a day early(drove) and left a day later.

We thought about buying AP's after we found these boards and learned more about them with the discounts and all, but since we had already paid for the package and thought we would only want to go everyother year we decided against getting AP's.

WHAT A MISTAKE THAT WAS, you guessed it, we are going back for even longer this year plus taking a 4 day cruise. This year we are buying AP's, even if we do not return next year we figure we will be there long enough for it to pay off, and if we do go back before they expire then it will be free admission.

It would have saved us alot of money if we would of bought them last year.

If it were me since you are already planning on 7 days, and AP's pay for themselves if you are going to be in the 4 major parks for 8 days i would buy them. with possible room discounts and all the other discounts you can get you could come out cheaper with the AP's.
