Hey there! Had couple questions about Annual Pass... I've read sticky and looked online, but saw info that said can activate thru 2030 and then another site saying that had changed.... so figured best to ask!

1- If you buy an AP, how far out can you wait to activate it?

2- If I have 10 day hopper tickets that are expiring in Jan of 2019, can I upgrade these to an AP, will the cost paid for the tickets being taken off the AP price? The 10 day tickets were part of a Disney package bought directly thru the website. I'm assuming they would figure it based on the 10 day ticket price the year it was bought (which I believe was last year- 2017).

3- Do I need to be on property to do this since wanting to use the 10 day ticket toward the cost of AP, or can I do online/phone?

* If we do NOT buy AP and use the tickets, only other option I'm assuming is to upgrade to whatever price tickets have risen to for next year 10 day tickets? (We can't use them on an upcoming Nov trip because the trip is booked thru travel agent has tickets attached to it that are specific to our dates.) Thanks for any help!!!

1. The end of the year 2030 (or MAYBE, later.)
2a. Yes.
2b. Yes.
2c. OK.
2d. Yup.
3. At this time, guests need to be at WDW to upgrade.
* More or less, that is correct.

I hope this is okay but I would like to piggyback on this AP question thread.

I purchased AP a month ago and we go in December of this year and will activate them then.
Up until the most recent MDE update a few days ago I was able to go in and look at fast passes 30 days out (without a reservation). When I do that now it says I need a ticket linked or a current reservation. Under the ticket section. My AP is listed (course not officially active yet) So am I allowed to see FP's 30 days out or not until my AP is activated? At this time I believe it to be another MDE glitch where the AP ticket and the FP system are not communicating. I know there has been plenty of issues with the system updates and I have no reason to actually book FP's at this time so I can wait it out if it corrects itself. I just wanted to be sure that I should be able to book FP at this time.

Thanks Robo & FFMickey! So glad to hear that still have till 2030 or longer to activate!! Wish I could upgrade now (before any price hikes) but did figure I'd have to be on property to upgrade the 10 day ticket... let's hope this new ticket pricing system that's coming doesn't dramatically impact AP price!!!
