Hi everyone,

I've been trying to find the answers here, but am coming up short.

I'm taking a 8 day trip this summer that is all booked. Last month I got the opportunity to go again in October, something I've always wanted to do to do MNSSHP. That trip is 5 days. I'm planning on upgrading my ticket to an AP. This is the best thing to do right? My understanding is that I need to wait until I'm in Disney to change. Do I do this at the hotel or at the parks? If at the park where do I go? We're visiting MK first. I wasn't able to get free dining for my October trip because of the short stay (4 nights) so I will be paying out of pocket for dining even though the people I am meeting will have the dining plan. Will it be worth it to get Tables in Wonderland? We already have the deluxe dining plan for the summer. Are there any other benefits to the AP I'm missing? I really appreciate any advice you can give me! Thanks!

Oh, how fun!! A second trip within the same year is always a great thing!

Before we moved to Florida, I found that anytime you're hitting the parks for more than 10-days in a year, it pays to upgrade to the A/P.

When you arrive at Magic Kingdom, just stop by Guest Services over to the right of the park entrance and they'll be able to upgrade for you. I don't think they'll be able to do that at your resort.

The TIW card is going to be dependent of what types of dining reservations you have for that short trip. It's a great value and you make your money back quickly with the 20% discount on food and beverages, but you'll want to calculate if it will make sense before you commit to it.

Hope that helps!

We got APs on our trip in December and also got TIW at that time. The TIW is awesome...I like it so much better than the dining plan. I would drop your deluxe dining plan and use TIW for those meals instead...it's likely to be a cost savings for you. But if you want to stick with the deluxe plan for your summer trip, I don't think TIW would be worth it for one short trip for it sounds like only one person.

You'll need to do the upgrade at guest service or at a ticket window at any of the parks. You can't do an upgrade to an AP at your hotel.

Same advice here. Especially if you enjoy any adult beverages. The beauty of the TiW, in addition to discounting alcohol purchases is you can eat how you want. If you want just an appetizer for lunch you can order just that. It typically works out so much better. There is a dining plan calculator online that will compare the costs of a dining plan to the costs using a TiW discount and you can determine then which benefits you.

I'll answer a few questions. Enter the theme park first using your original tickets. Then do the upgrade. There's a Guest Relations at City Hall (near the fire house) that can handle your upgrade. But you could also do this on your way out of the park, too. There's a Guest Relations outside the gates on the left (as you're walking out). You could also stop at a ticket booth. Just be sure to do the upgrade after you use your original ticket first.

You can get a small AP discount ($4-$5) on advanced purchase MNSSHP tickets.

Free Dining requirement is a minimum of 3 nites at a Disney Resort and 2-day tickets with PH or WPF&M. You should have been able to book FD for October if the room type & resort you desired still had availability under that offer.

Tables in Wonderland can be used for up to 10 people, and includes discount on alcohol. It could also cover appetizers for those not on DxDP. The AP holder has to pay the TiW charges with a CC in their name (or cash). Your server won't take payment for the TiW bill from anyone other than the AP holder. ID can be asked for. (The AP holder could settle up later with the other dinner guests, if everyone had agreed to share the TiW bill.)

I agree with PP. If you have a Free Dining stay with DxDP this summer, then your trip would probably cost less money if you changed to a room-only stay with a discount room rate, and upgrade tickets to AP and TiW card. You could get your tickets from Disney online or a third party reseller, like AAA or UCT.

Something I learned when I got our APs last month, If you want a TiW card you have to go to Guest Relations. The Ticket Booth doesn't have them. I just went on and did it all at Guest Relations.

Good to know about the one inside MK. For some reason I didn't know they could do ticket upgrades there. I knew they could fix issues and such. Do you know if they have TiW (for next time)?

All Guest Relations Locations can do TiW cards.

I got my TIW card at the Guest Relations window outside the MK. Not sure about the one inside but I don't see why you couldn't get TIW there, either.

OP, each theme park has two Guest Relations locations. One outside the entry gate, and one just inside the entrance. Epcot has a third Guest Relations location at the International Gateway entrance (accessible from outside the gate). Downtown Disney has two Guest Relations locations, one on the east side Marketplace section near Ghiradelli's, and one on the west side at the DisneyQuest bldg.

I wish I had known that you could upgrade you ticket to an annual pass when I was there earlier this June. I am going back in October so the prices of tickets combined is equal to the price of the AP. I had thought to ask but didn't because I thought it would be ridiculous. When I go in December I am definitely upgrading to AP because I plan on going again in May and October 2016.

Thank you so much for all of your help! I always know where to go for the real truth!
