HEY GUYS, I HAVE A QUESTION?? I CURRENTLY HAVE AN ANNUAL PASS WHICH I GOT LAST YEAR ON DECEMBER 7TH. THIS YEAR I AM GOING ON DECEMBER 6TH SO I HAVE ONE DAY LEFT ON IT AND THEN I WANT IT RENEWED,DO I RENEW IT THE DAY I GO DOWN OR ON THE SEVENTH OR BEFORE I GO??? I AM HEARING DIFFERENT THINGS SO IF YOU GUYS COULD HELP (WHICH YOU ALWAYS DO) I WOULD APPRECIATE IT. THANKS AGAIN.

You can renew it at any time. The new AP will expire the same date next year no matter which day you renew.

You may not be able to use the new AP until the other one expires but I'm not sure about that.

Is there a benefit to renewing instead of just buying a new ap? Also is it more cost effective to get annual pass or disney club as far as discounts go? We could arrange our trips to take advantage of ap.

There is a renewel discount so that is the cheapest way to buy another AP. Disney Club is more effective for discounts, you will also receive a discount on the AP purchase.

Unless you are planning to be in the parks 8 or more days are AP's cost effective. The biggest discount offered to AP holders is sometimes great rates on rooms but those are not guaranteed. If buying an AP for that reason it is better to wait until after you have the discount reservation.

Here's the DIS link to ticket prices and descriptions:

You'll see that it costs less to renew than to just buy a new pass. The decision to renew or buy new depends on when you next plan to visit and how often you might return. You can use your DC card to get a discount on the annual passes.

Here's a link that compares the discounts available to annual passholders and Disney Club members:

Enjoy the planning!

I live in Florida, so I get a residents discount, plus this year they've added 100 extra days to the annual in tribute to Walt's B-Day at no extra cost. Is that for anyone in and out of Florida?

Hi MK!

I think that the extra 100 days is only for Florida residents. I would LOVE to hear that it is for everyone though - that would extend mine through the summer of 2002, and would make a trip to WDW MUCH more a possiblity! :)
