Ap question for 1st Timer

I have a reservation at WL for May06 with the aaa discount. I am planning to purchase an AP -- waiting to see what the discount is for a Deluxe. My question is --- do I need the ap when I call to get the discount. Would I have time to order the AP and then call to adjust my reservation?? Help not sure what to do.

Unless things have changed you can reserve a room with the AP discount before you have the AP. You need to have the AP when you check in.

The AP voucher is usually sufficient for check in, then just bring your activated AP by the desk later. That's what they told me on check in at the YC. When I returned with the AP, another person at the desk was like, "you didn't have to do that, we trust you". Made me feel good.

I'm adding to what I said and rcraw45425 said. We have had AP discounted rooms probably 25 times and have never been asked to see our AP's. I gave the answer that in theory, would be correct. I have even asked the CM at check in, do want to see my AP and they declined.
