AP question for 16 yo daughter

My daughter has been invited to go to WDW with a friend's family. Looking at a 4-day hopper, that is more than halfway to the price of an AP. Our family plans on going to WDW hopefully this year, too, so I'm thinking of getting an AP for her if I can use her AP to get AP rates for the room reservation. Can I? She's 16, if that matters.
