AP query

Hi, we're going to DLRP at the end of August - 2 adults & 3 children (10, 6, 3). Can't decide whether to get AP for us all. From reading the info on here I can see that children under 7 go free when buying AP. Would you still get this and the 10% discount from sponsorship. Also my 6 year old turns 7 in February - would she be able to still use it if we go again next year.

Hope this all makes sence...I've only just found your site and I'm trying to read all the great information on here as we've never been before.

Hi,

You would only have to buy 3 AP's for your whole family, as you would be entitled to free childrens ones of the same type you buy for you and your husband. Your 6-year olds Annual Pass is valid for one year from the time you buy it, so yes, valid after he/she is 7. Thats exactly the way it worked with my DDs free pass.

You can't combine the 10% sponsored discount with the free childs AP offer, but you could do your 10-year olds AP in a separate transaction, and get the 10% sponsored discount on that one.

Hi and welcome

You wouldnt be able to get the free child offer and the sponsorship discount but as you would need 5 APs you could get 2 free children with the 2 adults and then get discount on the 5th that you would need.
I cant see any reason why your 6 yr old wouldnt be able to still use it after they turn 7 as long as it is bought before the 7th birthday.

There is also a family discount you can get for 5 APs for people living at the same address but Im not sure if this would give you a better discount than the free children or not - I suspect not but Im sure someone else can confirm this. I also dont think you can combine discount on this one either

As others have said you cannot combine free child with sponsorship. While the 10% sponsor discount is welcome it does not compete with the free AP

Thank you all for your speedy replys, you've been really helpful. I think we'll definitely get APs as it will work out cheaper.
Maybe you can help me with some more questions. I've been looking at the different types of AP tickets. The Fantasy ticket only allows 335 day access - I've been trying to find the dates that are not allowed but can't find a link that works. Please could you point me in the right direction.
Finally can you combine the dream and fantasy ticket. ie. we buy 1 Dream to get the bigger discounts and then 2 fantasy.

I'm now trying to persuade OH that if we get AP we'll have to go again next year.

You can combine different types of pass. The free childs pass will be whatever the adult one is.
Remember though that if you do stay off site only the holder of the dream AP will be allowed to use EMH. However as long as the dream holder is present discount in restaurants is for the whole party

I usually look at blackout days on DLP magic but Ive a feeling their calendar isnt working at the moment

Thanks A Small World, I hadn't thought about the EMH. I think we'll probably get the Dream tickets as OH is already trying to work out when we can go next time, then we can maybe stay in a Disney Hotel and use the discount too.

The blackout dates are available on the DLP French website at http://offres.disneylandparis.fr/passeport-annuel/non-adherents/fantasy/index.xhtml The DLRP Magic calendar is not available at present as already mentioned

I notice in an earlier post that you are going at the end of August - Fantasy AP blackout days include the 30th and 31st August

Thanks for that link. That settles it - we wouldn't be able to use the Fantasy ticket anyway for the dates we're going.
I'm sure we'll get our moneys worth with the Dream one. We are staying off site at a hotel with a shuttle bus - now we'll be able to use the car and save on the parking fee. Also the discounts for food and shops will help too.

With the dream AP you can also park at any hotel apart from Disneyland hotel. Parking at New York Hotel is slightly closer than in the official car park and gives you chance to see inside the hotel - you just need to show your dream AP to the security guard on the gate

Thanks again for the info. That's the parking sorted at DLP. I found out today the hotel we're staying at charges 15 EUROS a day to park there. Hopefully there'll be somewhere nearby to park for free - so I can spend the money on the kids instead.
