A quick question about something I can't seem to get my head around - we bought APs for DH and myself and got free APs for our 2 children which will expire next May. We are hoping to go in February and May next year, but the May date will be AFTER our APs expire. Presuming I sponsor 4 other people, is it possible for me to sponsor our children? I'm thinking not since February is too soon and May half term will be too late. So I'll be in the strange situation of getting sponsors for them and sponsoring people myself. OR could I use my shareholder discount to buy my children's APs next year?
Sorry if this sounds like the ravings of a lunatic. Brain not what it used to be and am overtaken with the endless organisation of school fete and getting celebrities to open it!

I dont think you can sponsor someone who has already had an AP so you cant sponsor your children in this case.
If they hadnt had an AP there would be no problem sponsoring them - DH sponsored DS at Easter

Of course, You're right! See if I had half a brain cell spare at the moment I could have reached that conclusion. Wonder if I could use my shareholder discount for them though? Guess will just wait and see. Thankyou!

Just moving this from the sponsor thread :)

As already stated an exisiting AP holder cannot be sponsored.
Though I'd also add that your children's free AP's can not sponsor others and they will not get addition free months.

If it was to work to plan the following would be the cycle.
Year 1 buy an AP
Year 2 sponsor and get additional months/year for free
Year 3 pay for renewal of your AP
Year 4 sponsor and get additional months/year for free
etc etc

I know the children can't sponsor this you, only DH & I, so I was planning to do that and buy the children new ones next year but had momentary brain collapse (OK let's be honest, more than momentary) about me sponsoring them. Now obviously I can't do that but can I use my shareholder's discount to buy their APs? I'm guessing probably not.

I've lifted this from the shareholder site so I'm sure this means that you can get 15% on your children's :)
I'll be doing this with DD's renewal of her AP that was free last year.
