ap purchase

can anyone tell me if a castmember can buy an "ap" at a discounted price? I have a neice working at MGM and would like her to buy my "ap" for me to possibly save some $
also...can she buy one for herself and I can use it??? do the castmembers passes look different than those sold to the public??

Hi bapcap!

I am not certain whether your neice can get a discount for you or not.

But I AM certain that you cannot "share" APs. Whether the CM AP looks different than a "regular" one is not the important part. (Besides, I believe that permanent CMs can visit WDW and DL by just using their CM ID card.) Each time using an AP, you must have your finger scanned. It is a biometric identitfier making sure that each passholder is who they say that they are.

The only other discount on APs is the Disney Club. This discount is only good through December 31 of this year though.

Yes, the CM's can get a discounted rate. My cousin is a CM, and she is getting us PAP's for $468.73 ( although I am not sure if this includes tax, I have to find that out.)

It is a voucher, and you can enable the pass when you get to a Guest Services Window.

OK, I just checked with my cousin, and she just double checked with Disney...

The price noted above includes tax, and They do give you (or your CM relative) a voucher to activate when you are available.

My niece said she asked her "supervisor" about purchasing my AP and using her discount and was told there is no discount. I'd like to maybe have her check with someone else...can your cousin give any suggestions?? Since we are trying to save money on our upcoming trip, the price difference would really help...thanks
