We have always gone on a package that included LOS tickets. This Nov. will be our first stay as DVC members. We will be there for 8 days. Hopefully we will get back within a year, so we have decided to buy Annual Passes. I have some questions.

1. Can I buy annual passes at the Disney Store? If not where can I buy them?

2. Do they have your picture on them? In other words would my husband have to be with me when I bought his?

3. If I can buy them in advance, should I wait till it's closer to November?

4. Anything I'm missing?

Thanks for the help.

We have Annual Passes and purchased them online at Disney.com. They sent us vouchers which we redeemed at TTC when we arrived at WDW. The pass year starts when the vouchers are redeemed, NOT when you purchase them.

You can purchase your husbands voucher, but you can not redeem it for him. When you redeem them, you put your fingers in a machine which somehow measures your index and middle fingers (this is supposed to be as good as a fingerprint). The passes do not have a picture on them. But when you enter a park with them, you put your fingers in one of those measuring machines to prove the pass belongs to you.

I would buy the passes now if you can. The price might very well go up between now and November. Then you just hold onto the vouchers and redeem them in November...then your year of use begins.

We checked with our local Disney store first but they did not sell them. The link to buy passes at disney.com is

We LOVE our APs. Makes us feel special, and they are a great deal if you can use them for 2 or 3 trips. Hope this helps

1: Don't know if you can purchase them at Diz stores. We buy them right at the park, why pay any earlier then you have too.
2: No picture taken. The first time you actually use the pass activates it.When you get to the turnstile, they take a reading off your finger tips. From then on that card is imprinted to you.Very simple, quick. If you were to have difficulty at some point with a machine reading your fingers, then you would need to show photo ID, (they don't want you loaning your AP to friends or family. Also protects against theft).
3: You can buy them on-line,but why spend the money till you need to.There is no discount for early purchase.
4: The only discount availible is thru the new Disney Club-the old magic kingdom club. It's not much, but if you buy 2 AP's it will save you the cost of DC membership, plus you get other benifits from DC.

hope this helped.

There are discounts available to military, federal civil service and their dependents. Check out SOGs web site.

hi: yes, the disney stores can sell the aps-they have to send away for the vouchers and call you when they come in. you will get a small discount if you are a disney club member.

This is a great question for the Theme Parks Board here at DIS and has been moved there.

Thanks!

Ticket information can also be found at this link...in addition to the Theme Parks Board.
