The new price for an Annual Pass before any DVC discount is now $395 plus $25.68 tax which brings the total to $420.68. I got this info right from WDW website.

Heres my math for our DVC AP price... $395-$100=$295 plus tax of $19.18 brings total to $314.18. ( Did we figure the cost would of been around $297 before this price increase?).

I'm still really happy with the $100 off the AP price. I just wanted to make sure those of you going to purchase the AP's soon realize they went up.

I hope everyone had a great start to the new year.

How much are regular AP renewals now with DVC? Did renewals go up as well?

I can not tell by the website if the renewal price went up. It probably did but you can not renew online so you would have to call and check. I would think MS would have this info. I have read other post that people are on hold for more then 30 minutes trying to book MYW tickets for their trips and add the dining feature. If I call later today,( need to add two nights before my BWV stay in May), I'll let you know if I find out anything.

The increase for the AP was only $16 per pass, from $379 to $395 per adult ticket, really not a HUGE increase if you ask me, only 4%. So, it's now $314 including tax with DVC discount. A comparable MYW ticket, with hopping, no pluses and no expiration, a 7 day ticket is $296, with the 10 day being $353, so I'd put the breakeven still around 7 - 8 days.

Edited to add: if you are only going once per year, like I would, it's still more economical to get the AP and stagger your visits to get two uses out of the AP. The 10 day with expiration, no pluses (meaning you'd buy one every year) is $247, so MUCH more expensive that way to buy for two years. Now, if you just like to go once a year, and don't use more than 10 park days, and don't care about AP management, the 10 day pass is a better deal, but only slightly since it does expire in 14 days after first use. Also, you don't quailfy for any AP discounts, or perks without the AP, which are most likely worth more than $70 IMO. We always use the AP rates and the World of Disney Discount, though the dining discounts are basically the same as DVC's.

I just dont hink its that simple anymore since the MYW tckets have come out

for ex

10 day ticket w hopping, no expir, and plusses: $401.51
PAP w dvc discount: $423.49

so unless you are getting more than 10 days at the parks in those 366 days or more than 5 plusses the PAP isnt worth it

alot will come down to just how long and when you are going

I'm still disappointed in the increase. I figured they would do this...

Oh well.....

So it looks like upgrading my already purchased and active APs to a PAP will not actually be the $2.50 we were talking about before. Instead, it's looking like it'll be about $12.50 ish, which is real money, if I can get visits to Disney Quest and the water parks out of it, that'll be worth it still. ::yes::

So it's looking like PAPs go from after tax $548.48 for adults and $466.47 for under 10s, to $415.35 adult/ $353.58 under 10s with DVC discount.
As for APs, they go from the slightly increased $420.68 adult/ $357.84 under 10 down to $314.18 adult/ $267.32 under 10s.

It's nice to have the discount, and it's a very good deal still. I think most of us were expecting something of a price bump pirate: after our DVC discount was announced. It looks like the new breakeven point is either more than 10 consecutive days (with the days expiring, so only one long trip that year), or if more than one trip (so you'd need the no expiration option), then it'd be anything over 7 days: the 7 day MYW w/park hopping and no expiration comes to $307.79 gate/ $296.07 advance purchase, while the 10 day goes for $366.36 gate/ $353.58 advance. But the price differential is so minimal at those higher day levels (5 day MYW w/PH & no exp is $280.10 gate/ $272.54 adv) that I should think that for us DVCers, if you're taking 2 or more trips inthe same year, you should probably consider the AP.

Interesting to do the math anyhow. :teacher:

I am sticking with my $415.35 number for adult PAP after DVC discount: PAP list price is $515 less $125 DVC discount = $390 pre-tax; add on 6.5% FL sales tax and I get $415.35.
Child's PAP comes to $353.58 using the same method ($106 discount).

As the admission prices keep going up, the percent discout for DVCers will decrease over time. It has already :guilty: $100 is still $100, but we will get less with each AP increase. I hope Disney will periodically bump up the dollar amount of the discount to keep an even percentage with the ticket increases. That is of course if they keep the DVC discount program for several years.

Darn! We leave in a week and I had decided to wait until we got there to renew our passes. Now it will cost me more money from my buidget. I didn't see this increase coming. Disney sure kept it quiet.

you are correct its 415, but the 10 day is still cheaper, at 401, so the point is still valid that unless you are using your PAP for more than 10 park days or 5 plusses its not worth it

Im still going with the PAP because I like unlimited access to the waterparks and DQ. I am also planning 2 trips on one season pass, so I will breakeven at least on the pass price differences.

I am still dissapointed though that there is no way to get unlimited access to the minor parks without a season pass. Does anyone know if you can use more than 1 plus per day? Say I want to go to the waterparks during the day and to DQ that evening?

I think the breakeven is around 11 days. A premium MYW ticket without the no expire option at 10 days is 29.50 per day. A new purchase DVC discounted AP is 28.56 per day at 11 days. A renewal DVC AP is 25.56 per day at 11 days.

Since you could do that with the plus options on the PHP passes, I don't see why it would be different under the new structure (except that the new structure includes DQ and old did not).

So as you suggest, to go to a waterpark and DQ on the same day, you will use two plus options.

Best wishes -

I have a couple of questions. I am really not used to buying APs, since I think we only had one once about 10 years ago. We usually go with the park hoppers, so my first question is: Is there a chance that the AP price can increase again at any time during this year. I ask this because our first trip will not be until August so I am not sure if I should wait until it gets closer to our arrival date to buy, just in case something happened(with 2 elderly, not that well, parents you never know). Also, I apologize if this is a stupid question but with the new Magic My Way tickets, do you think places like AAA will still offer discounts on passes like they did with the park hopppers?

Thanks so much to anyone who has answers to these questions. You are all so great. I hope the OP does not mind that I did not start my own thread but I thought this was a good place to ask. Thanks!! :D

For the Annual Passes, DVC prices will be
$314.18 adult/ $267.32 under 10.

A 10 day, single trip, with Hopping 247$. Clearly less about 65$,
but for 11 days it is $347.
For 10 days in multiple trips adding the no exp and hopping cost is 353$.

For the PAPs DVC prices $415.35 adult/ $353.58 under 10s.
A 10 Day single trip w/Hopping and Plus 295$
11 day single trip, extra day no hop, no plus $357.

For 10 days multiple trips with no exp, hopper and plus $401

For trips more than 10 days, the AP and PAP will be a better value.

While Disney has usually NOT raised prices more than once in a year, they certainly can if they wish. No guarantee that prices will be the same when you go in August, but I'd be surprised if there was another increase this year.

MYW passes are available thru travel agents and at Disney stores. If discounted passes are available thru corporate partners, they will have to be negotiated separately. Since MYW are being marketed as a "design-your-own" pass, there may be limited discounted passes thru outside agencies. You'll need to check with AAA to see what discounts they may have available.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the quick response Doc. I guess I will get the APs soon just in case. That is, as long as I can buy them now and they do not start until I hand in the voucher in August, which I believe I read was ok. Atleast, I think that is the way for us to go since we plan to do a 9 day trip in August and hope to get 6 days in in Feb. of 06. I think even if we do not go to the parks every day, we will do ok with the AP. Thanks again. :D
