Does anyone know when the AP ticket prices are raised each year? Want to purchase our AP's before that happens and save some $$$$. :upsidedow

This year and last it was just after August 2 -3. There may have been 2 increases one year, but I don't know the other date. I ordered my DS's family tickets on line on August 3rd this year because news came on the disboards that the prices were going up...and I just checked my mail for the purchase confirmation.

PS. Plus we renewed ours at the old price the same day. You can buy now and get a voucher which will be good for you to exchange for the pass whenever you go. The date doesn't start until you get the pass, not buy the voucher.

I am going to swear off Disney for the entire year of 2008. By doing so I save a few points and also don't have the expense of buying 3 AP's.

If however I were to need to buy I would look for the discounts and get them before the price increase.

Hold on, I thought if you renewed your old AP that the new one started right when your old one expired. Am I wrong??

No, you are not wrong. The renewal one started right when the old one expired, not on the day that I renewed it, so it was fine. We just went to Guest Relations in September to get the renewals activated. It was worth it to us to get the renewal rate, rather than a new beginning AP.

They seem to increase around the first of the year and/or early August. Usually just once a year, but sometimes twice.

According to All Ears Net:

2005
Disney completely redesigned their ticket offerings and raised prices on January 2, 2005. Therefore, all prices for 2005 are after the price increase. Gone were all the one day, park hopper, park hopper plus and Ultimate Park Hopper tickets. In their place, Disney introduced the Magic Your Way (MYW) tickets. 5 day and higher MYW tickets with any option (Park Hopper, Magic Plus Pack, or Premium) get an advance purchase discount. Base tickets do not get any advance purchase discount. Disney also introduced a Pleasure Island child's admission category for the first time. It was the multi club ticket. Disney also introduced a PI single club ticket and a PI Annual Pass where the passholder can bring a guest for free any night. In late 2005, Disney renamed the Magic Plus Pack option to Water Park Fun & More (WPF&M).

2006
Disney raised most prices on January 1, 2006 followed by raising the water parks and DisneyQuest on January 15, 2006. Most prices went up again on August 6.

2007
Disney raised water parks admissions on February 11, 2007. On August 5, Disney then raised most other admissions as they eliminated the advance purchase discount on tickets of four or more days.
