I'm at Disneyland now. I purchased an Annual Pass (premium) on Wednesday night. This is the first time I've bought an AP since 1999.
Last month, I was here for 4 days during the 59th anniversary. Now, three weeks later, we have decided to move to Orange County from the Bay Area. I explained this to the CM at the ticket booth, telling her that if I knew we were going to move to the area, I would have bought my AP back then.
The CM (Rosemarie) was able to get an exception from a manager (Phylesia) to apply the full amount of my expired 4-day hopper to the AP price. So I got the PAP for $410, with the CA resident payment plan. It will only cost me $34 per month.
I had originally purchased my hopper through Orbitz, getting the 4th day for free. They still applied the full amount of a 4-day ticket, saving me an additional $24 on the AP. So because of this pixie dust, I was able to save $289 on my AP.
I'm now enjoying my 3rd day I'm the park, before I drive back home this afternoon. This thread is a classic example of why it never hurts to ask questions without acting entitled while at Disney.
