I currently have a 10 day base ticket. I will be going to Disney in August, with my first park day being August 18th. I intend to upgrade my 10 day base ticket to an AP then.

I have a number of family members whom will also be going to Disney. Two of them will be in the parks a few days before me. We are all linked through MDE Friends and Family. My question is, when I upgrade my base ticket to an AP on the 18th, will I be able to see and download the photos that have been taken of my two family members when they were in the parks on the 14th - 17th?

I believe the Photopass and MM Sticky has all the info. ;)

If your family members are on your MDX account or linked with full photo sharing, the photos are linked and available in your own account.

Then the following excerpt from the Sticky holds true for you:
Annual Passholders. Most Annual Passholder levels include free digital downloads of PhotoPass photos. If you have this, there is no need to buy any of the above Photo products. When you activate your Annual Pass, any photos which are currently in your PhotoPass account, as well as any you have taken while your Annual Pass is valid, will be available for you to download at no additional charge.

The photo availability has been in effect since late 2015.

Indeed it is . . . . and I knew that any photos in MY photopass would be available. I was not 100% certain that would apply to Friends and Family though, and since they will be going to a Halloween party before I get there and upgrade, I wanted to be absolutely sure, and not take a gamble. Thanks hiro!

As long as everyone is linked in MDE, you should have no problems. We went with relatives a year ago. We had APs, they didn't. They were linked in MDE. WE were able to see and get all of our photos as well as theirs. It worked really well.
Good luck.

When we upgraded to APs last year, all of our previous "expired" photos even showed up again as they were now in the 13 month AP window. That was a surprise.
