We (DH & I) are debating getting AP’s this year. We are scheduled to go to DL in Sep and I think it would be great to get AP’s so we can go around the Christmas time as well as in the spring.

I read a thread where a family buys an AP say around July one year then goes again the next summer before the AP expires.

(FYI) We live in N. Cal about 8 hours from DL. I have two girls.. 3 ½ and 21 mths. Along with the fact that we are military (so we never know what’s coming next per Uncle Sam).

Last, we hope to go to WDW in 2 years.

Therefore, my question is… Would you get AP’s if you were me?

If you are unsure, I would get a multiday pass, try out the park w/the girls and then if it feels like you would want to come back at xmas and spring, convert those tickets to an AP...you only pay the difference in price b/w what you paid and the cost of an AP.

The AP won't help you at WDW...but if that figures in to how much you will go, then maybe you don't want to do the AP.

I'd get them. We're going down in two weeks and DH & I plan on upgrading the parkhoppers that come with our package to AP's and we're going to WDW in Nov! I want them for the discounts on this trip and I know if we have them I can get my DH to go down for a few days in the spring! We also live on Nor Cal so the drive's not too bad.

I am you and I DID IT!

Hey there, just my 2 cents. We're up here in No. Cal as well (Folsom) and we were JUST at the park for 5 days in June with our 4 year old Princess!

We had a BLAST and to me the fireworks show is worth getting the annual passes for (but I'm crazy like that)!

For us it was a no brainer. This is the 50th celebration year, it's the last year before our 4 year old will be in "real" school, I'm a stay at home mom and have the time to go back.

We're going to go in Oct., Dec., Spring & Summer :)

Mom2Joce,

We had a BLAST and to me the fireworks show is worth getting the annual passes for (but I'm crazy like that)!

I don't understand what you mean by the fireworks show and how it applies to an AP.

So you don't think my girls are to young for an AP now?

I agree about getting the park-hoppers and then upgrading while you are there. That is what I decided to do, at least for DH and I, as we will be going again in December for a convention. I am also saving a ton on our stay at DLH with the discount. Since we won't be getting ours until the end of August, that will give me a great excuse to sqeeze in another trip next spring or summer (but honey, I saved so much money on this trip that we can go again!)

Sorry, I wasn't very clear! What I meant about the fireworks show is that "to me" the show is worth getting the annual passes for just so we can go back and see it over and over and over again!!

As far as age goes, I think it's a personal preference. Again to me, NO they are NOT too young and your one year old won't even need a pass this year!

The way we did it was got the 5 day hoppers (any hopper will do) then spend your few days in the park. If it's something you and your husband think you'll enjoy coming back to throughout the year then THE DAY BEFORE THE LAST DAY OF USE up grade them to the annual passes. After being in the park for 2 days I was convinced I'd be back :) So we just paid the difference on the tickets and got the AP :)

If you have any more questions or I'm not clear, PLEASE don't hesitate to ask :)

Thank you everyone!!! I think we will try a few days in the park and if all goes well, then I plan to upgrade to AP's. Thank you again for al your help.

Have a great Disney Day!!

Buy them! Or upgrade while you're there!

It's JMHO, of course, but I always love having the AP's, because I know my next visit is just around the corner. Even if it's not planned yet, I KNOW it's coming!

Have a great time!

You are very welcome and really getting the hoppers and then upgrading is the way to go!! You will definitely know over the first few days your there whether you'll want to upgrade :) Have a GREAT trip!!
