AP not "recognized" for park reservation

I renewed my DVC gold AP but haven't activated them yet. We have a stay booked at SSR in July. There is park availability for MK on July 7 for AP holders but no one else. MDE is telling me that MK is full even though I'm an AP holder. My resort stay and AP "renewal certificate" both show in MDE. Is it just a glitch? Ugg I don't want to have to call.

It's because you are considered a resort guest, not just an AP holder. That means that your oark reservations would come out of the resort guest "bucket" and not the AP "bucket".

Yeah, you gotta call to fix this one.

Yes... SO frustrating. We are out of state AP ... therefore we have a resort reservation when we come to WDW. Consequence - we get stuck in the Resort Reservation vs AP bucket.

Honestly, it wouldn't be such a pain if you could get thru to their call center in a few minutes and correct it. However, given every call is a 1 to 2 hour+ wait, it is very frustrating.

BTW - Thanks to those on this board who let us know we have to call to "fix it"!!!

I know this doesn't pertain to the OP's situation, but if you're on site and an AP holder, and want to change your park reservation to a park that only has AP availability, you can stop by Guest Relations and they can switch it for you as well.

Maybe call at off hours? I have called the Passholder hotline 3 or 4 times this week and never waited more than 30 minutes. Good luck.

I would think most of the time it's the resort guests that have the bigger pool. Sure, they want AP holders, but to have resort guests paying that kind of $ and not get into a park is very bad for business. Definitely call. The AP line as mentioned above tends to be significantly faster.

Yes that's what I thought also. Weird that there was availability for AP holders and not for Resort guests. Anyway thanks for the all info. I just got off the AP holder hotline and she got me the day at MK. I waited about 30 min, so not great but not too bad.

I was able to use the chat on the mde app to fix this problem about a month ago.
