AP/MYW Question

I will be traveling with my DD, Best Friend and her son this August. My DD and I have AP's, Best Friend and son do not.

What do you think the best booking strategy will be? Book a room only w/ AP discount and have friends purchase tickets, or book a resort package with tickets only for them? What do you think will be a better deal? Do you save money if you book packages with tickets now?

I know from past experience that travel packages could not beat the price that I put together (AP's plus room only booking) but with the new ticket changes I am confused. We are only taking a short trip, four days.

Any suggestions?

I would book a room with AP Discount (provided they are available for August) and buy the tickets separate. The MYW tickets are the same price for a package or if you buy them separate. You will save money with the AP discount (maybe up to 40% on the room rate). If you purchase a package you will have to pay a higer rate for the room (rack rate).
Have a great trip. Travelling to Disney with friends and family is magical.

I would book it with the AP rate. If you book a package, you all have to be on the package. Unfortunately, you cannot break the package up. Plus with your AP, you should be able to secure a cheaper room rate.
