Hi from NC,

I just did a quick search on the boards and learned that we will be missing out on the AP discount since we are going down in Dec. That stinks for us but I'm glad it is finally being offered for you all. I guess we'll take advantage of it when we renew in Dec 2005. Anyway - I have some questions and I know you all can help.

First - Are there any other discounts available? Disney Club? Other DVC? We are purchasing 4 passes and that's quite a hunk of change even though our room is "free".

Second- How can I obtain an AP voucher so I can receive our AP discount at the hotel? Does the voucher mark the renewal date or the first day the voucher is redeemed and the AP used? We are going down a couple of days early before our stay at BWV. We do not arrive MCO until 12:00 am so I cannot run to the park and purchase the AP before check-in. We leave Dec. 2 so I hope I haven't waited too long.

My brother is a FL resident. I wish he could help us out!

Thanks!

Ok maybe I've j ust been lucky, but I never have had to show my annual pass at check in. I always would be turning in the voucher or just buying the pass when I got to the park, either in an hour or the next morning, if we gotr in very late. I would just check in and if they ask tell them you'll bring it back to the desk when you get it out of your bag and then pick it up as soon as it is feasible.

As far as other discounts, as far as I know there are none any more. Trust me I know having to buy 4 adult ones @ full price is real sticker shock.

As far as room discounts go, using the code BDP has gotten me within $5 of the AP discount, and availability is usually the same. Check mousesavers.com for current codes.

As for tickets....hotwiresavingsclub.com is the best!!! You basically get PHP's at ADVANCE PH's price...and, remember...plus's never expire either. So, if you get an AP next year, but don't get the PAP....your plus's from the PHP's can still be used. It's a good deal.

hotwiresavingsclub.com is also a GREAT place to get meal vouchers and save some bucks on meals. There is a GREAT thread on the budget board that will tell you all about them...if you use them right...they can save you a LOT of money. Esp. if you have people that you can share large meals with. The food on one voucher EASILY feeds me and DH...but, we split meals a LOT at WDW and DL...I'm so excited we finally found the vouchers!!! These are also good for character breakfasts, and lunches at the "nice" restaurants in WDW.

hotwiresavingsclub costs $8 per month, but you get a free 30 trial when you sign up...so, just sign up, buy what you want, and then cancel when you receive your tickets.

Good luck,

Yeah, we renew on 12/4 and miss out on the discount also. We'll be there 12/5 for 5 nights. There's no other combination that makes sense to avoid renewal and defer to getting a new pass in January when we'll be there again. I would assume, or should I say hope it would still be around 12/4/05 when we renew again and years thereafter as well.

It depends in part on your future trips after Jan. Renewing in Dec and using for then and Jan will likely be your best option.

Thanks..... we'll be back again in May and then again in October, so I think the renewal (at regular rates, less the renewal discount) and then a renew with the DVC rates in December is the way to go.

Unless there's another visit that would fit into the window from your Jan, 2005 trip AND you'd be taking a break for a while after that.
