AP Merchindise Discounts and food/drinks/snacks

I was looking at the list of places under merchandise where I get an AP discount and noticed that many of them are places that also serve food drinks snacks etc. An example is The Artisit Palette at SSR or the big top tent next to Dumbo. Is the 20% AP discount only good on non edible merchandise or does it work for snacks and food too.
Our trip starts in 8 days and I'm trying to plan how to make the most of the discount. Thanks

In the past, it included the snacks etc, but it's possible that's changed recently.

It's good for snacks and drinks. You stop in the big tent by dumbo and by a Coke or Sprite, you get the 20% off by showing AP.

Same thing if you want to stop in a candy shop. You get the discount on Candy Apples and chocolates
