AP Hotel Discount / Activation Question

Hello Everyone,

We are going to purchase an Preferred AP for Universal for our next trip. I wanted to know if I can use the hotel discount once it is purchased or if I have to activate the pass before I can use the hotel discount. We are looking at staying on Universal property and I just want to try to maximise the pass value.

You just need to buy and activate the AP before you check out.

You can book with the AP rate as soon as you see the rate appear. You only need to physically have an AP before you check out.

We did this in October. I booked Royal Pacific with an AP rate around Aug/September. Bought our AP's online. Checked into the hotel then went to the park and picked up the AP's. They never did ask to see our AP's but I did show her the paperwork and asked about picking them up.
