AP Hopper Upgrade strategy

We have hoppers we plan to upgrade to APs. I don't need the MM, but I want the free parking and meal discounts with the signature AP. We arrive in the evening and plan to go to the park the next morning. My questions are:

1. If I pay to park, will they credit the upgrade cost by that amount?
2. Does everyone need to be present to upgrade their hoppers?
3. If I upgrade before I use the hoppers, when does my AP actually start?

I can't answer your questions, but I wanted to advise you to check the form they give you carefully. When we upgraded our hoppers in October, my daughters upgraded just fine to a year from the date it was first USED. Mine, on the other hand, upgraded to a year from the date it the hoppers were PURCHASED (which was February). It took the CM a bit to get it to run correctly.

If you take your parking receipt from the day you upgrade to the booth they'll give you credit. Everyone who is upgrading has to be at the booth. If you're only getting 1 signature pass, it might be slightly faster to have 1 person do that first thing in the morning, and then have everyone else go later when the lines might be shorter.

Thanks! Do you know if the AP would start that same day if I upgrade myself that night we arrive (before using the hopper)? Or would it be activated the next day when I enter the park?

The AP would be active when you walk away from the booth, even if you don't enter the park until the next day. So if your first park day is the 16th, if you did it the night before, it would expire on the 15th the next year. Unless you're planning a trip 1 year later when it expires, and need admission on the 16th, losing the extra day might not matter to you. (There's also the 13th month promo right now, but you'll have to research how that applies to upgrades.)
